Hon. George Macharia Kariuki, commonly known as GK, is the current Member of Parliament representing Ndia Constituency in Kirinyaga County. He assumed office in August 2022.
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
- Master of Science in Public Policy Management from Strathmore University (2021)
- Bachelor of Arts in Criminology & Security Studies from Egerton University (2018–2021)
- Holds a Higher Diploma in Psychology Counselling (Kenya Methodist University, 2008–2009) and a Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance.
CAREER & COMMUNITY ROLES
Before being a politician, Kariuki worked in both public and private sectors:
- Managing Director of Aberdare Spa & Safari Lodge (2015–2017)
- Director at Green Dairy Limited
- Financial Advisor at Britam
- Owner of Computer Bazaar
He also served as a church ministry coordinator before transitioning fully to public service.
POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT
Kariuki was first elected to Parliament in August 2017 and re-elected in 2022. He serves as Vice Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation. During public hearings on constitutional amendments, he rallied constituents behind national reforms.
