DON’T BE FOOLED! KICOWASCO DENIES CLAIMS OF ONGOING HIRING

The Kirinyaga County Water and Sanitation Company (KICOWASCO) has officially cautioned members of the public against individuals spreading false job information and posing as recruiters on behalf of the company.

In a strongly worded public memo signed by Managing Director Dr. Cyrus Mwangi, KICOWASCO revealed that it had received reports of fraudsters moving across the county, falsely claiming there are employment opportunities within the company.

According to the letter, KICOWASCO is not currently hiring and any claims suggesting otherwise are completely false. The company clarified that whenever vacancies arise, they are announced officially in national newspapers and other recognized platforms, not through word of mouth or informal channels.

Public at Risk of Scams

This alert comes at a time when many young people in the region are actively seeking job opportunities making them vulnerable targets. KICOWASCO is concerned that desperate job seekers may fall into traps set by scammers who may ask for application fees, bribes or personal information in exchange for fake jobs.

Dr. Mwangi stressed that no payment should ever be made for job consideration and warned that these fraudsters are not only spreading lies but also possibly engaging in criminal activity.

Protect Yourself

KICOWASCO advises the public to follow the company’s official communication channels and to report any suspicious individuals or messages. Legitimate job opportunities will always be communicated openly and transparently.

The company also reminded job seekers to never submit their ID numbers, academic documents or pay any money to unknown recruiters without verifying directly with the organization.

Final Word

This statement by KICOWASCO serves as an important reminder: in today’s world, scams can look very convincing and it’s easy to be misled if you’re not careful. Stay alert, stay informed and always verify before you apply.

For any official announcements, the public is encouraged to contact KICOWASCO directly or check recognized media outlets.
